Canon CR-2 Plus AF

RE1-CN-CR2PLUSAF

Auto focusing Non Mydriatic Camera with FAF

The CR-2 Plus AF is an Auto focusing Non Mydriatic Camera with Fundus AutoFluorescence (FAF) . The FAF photography mode will provide information on changes of the retina that can’t be made visible with standard colour photography. It is equipped with a unique dedicated EOS digital camera for the highest image quality.

FAF imaging for the diagnosis of retinal disease is a relatively new diagnostic technique that provides more information on the health of the retinal pigment epithelium. FAF has proven to be very useful for the early detection of Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD), one of the leading causes of visual impairment. Recent studies indicate that FAF imaging can also aid the diagnosis of a variety of other diseases and even detection of intraocular tumors.

If you already have a Canon camera with Eyescape, you can keep using the same software (an update may be required). You will keep using the same database you have been building all those years!

Non-Mydriatic Fundus Autofluorescence (FAF) Photography

Fundus Autofluorescence (FAF) helps monitor macular waste (e.g. lipofuscin) which can accumulate in the Retinal Pigment Epithelial (RPE) layer. The accumulation of macular waste can cause conditions such as Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) which can lead to reduced vision. The FAF mode may be selected by pressing only one button.
